About Old Century Roof

We are builders.
Not storm chasers.

Founded by experienced general contractors with one shared conviction: the best roof is the one you never have to think about again.

The Problem

99% of Colorado roofing companies are not roofing companies.

They are storm restoration operations. Their business model depends on hail events, insurance claims, and the 8-12 year replacement cycle of asphalt shingles. They are sales organizations with install crews.

After a hail event in Colorado, out-of-state roofing crews flood in by the thousands. They install the cheapest material as fast as possible, collect the insurance money, and move to the next storm market, gaming the insurance payout system the way a commodities trader games the market. Homeowners get a new asphalt roof. Another decade of waiting for the cycle to repeat.

That's not roofing. It's a sales operation wearing a contractor's hat.

1 in 10

Asphalt-shingled homes in the Denver Metro area
replace their roof every year.

Based on our analysis of Denver Metro housing stock, hail frequency data, and observed replacement cycles, roughly one in ten asphalt-shingled homes in the metro gets a new roof in any given year. Not because roofs are wearing out. Because hail resets the clock every 8 to 12 years. The storm restoration industry depends on this cycle. We were built to end it.

The Alternative

Old Century Roof exists for homeowners who are done with that cycle.

We were founded by experienced general contractors with decades of combined experience in high-end residential construction and specialty roofing. Our install crews carry 20+ years of specialty roofing experience across every permanent system we offer.

We are general contractors first. We understand how buildings are built. Not just how roofs are swapped. That depth of knowledge changes everything about how we approach a project: the substrate, the flashing, the ventilation, the long-term performance of the entire building envelope.

done right.

What We Are

Specialty only. Craft first.
Built to last.

Craft Over Volume

We take fewer projects and do them right. Our install crews have 20+ years of specialty roofing experience across every permanent system we offer. When we put our name on a roof, it stays.

Colorado Statewide

We serve the entire state, from Denver and Colorado Springs to the mountain communities, Western Slope, and beyond. Our crews are mobile. We will travel anywhere in Colorado for the right project.

Sustainability as Standard

Permanent roofing is sustainable roofing. Every tile, slate, metal, or synthetic system we install is a landfill avoided. We believe a roof should be the last conversation you ever have about your roof.

A Note on Insurance

We're happy to take your insurance company's money. We just want to build your roof.

If your carrier is paying for a replacement, that's a great outcome for you. We'll build it at our price, to our standard. Here's how it works with us:

Our price is our price. We don't negotiate with insurance adjusters, and we don't discount our work to match what a carrier wants to pay. We're retail contractors. That's not arrogance. It's how every other skilled trade works. You wouldn't ask your surgeon to negotiate his fee with your health insurance company before he operates. You hire the best surgeon for the job. His price is his price. You sort out reimbursement separately.

If we're replacing like for like (same material, same spec), our retail price is often competitive with or lower than what an insurance-driven contractor would charge, because we're not padding margins to cover storm-chasing overhead.

If you're upgrading (say from asphalt to standing seam metal), your insurance company isn't going to fund that difference. But you're welcome to submit our bid, collect what they'll pay toward the replacement, and cover the upgrade cost yourself. Many of our clients do exactly this.

If your carrier pushes back on our pricing, you're welcome to hire a Public Adjuster to advocate on your behalf. The contractor builds the roof. The adjuster fights the claim. Keeping those roles separate protects you.

We'll give you a clear, itemized bid you can hand to anyone. What happens between you and your insurance company is your business.
